Models such as the Birkin will be made from crocodile skin, and as of such, is prone to damage in extreme weather conditions.  Keep it out of direct sunlight and avoid getting water on it as this will damage both the texture and colour.  Wipe it clean once a month using a leather cloth. 

Once a month maintain the interior of your handbag.  Give it a good clean out and do not keep sharp objects in there in case it tears the lining.  The same applies with makeup and hand creams, avoid having these in your handbag.
